Themes and Commissions
I draw or paint nearly every day. I tend to work on two paintings or drawings on any given day. This actually results in better paintings because it gives my eyes a chance to refresh and see more critically. Sometimes I'll do a series of paintings of a theme, say kayaking on a lake, or wave patterns in the sand, and so on.
This process enables me to do a few commissions each year. Please note that if you are interested in commissioning a painting, that we'll need to discuss it in advance. Also note that a painting can take anywhere from 20 to 100+ hours over a period of several weeks to complete.
The "Possibilities" Folder Explained
This folder is mostly about paintings that don't fit neatly as "people" or "places." Still life arrangements like wave patterns on the Rhode Island shore, or reflections along the shoreline of an Adirondacks lake. Other paintings that find their way into this folder include copies I make from masters from different artistic pursuits. So it's a bit of a grab bag.
